Heacock Trailers is in its 85th year and fourth generation as a family owned business. Owners Matt and Anna Heacock are proud of their familyâs history leading the industry in providing quality products that are the best solution for each individualsâ work and personal needs.
Heacock Trailers was originally established in 1939 by Ed Heacock in Glendale, California. Then named Heacock Welding, Edâs specialty was fabricating custom designed hitches, as hitches werenât available as a pre-manufactured product. Ed was an expert in his field and taught welding at the local college. He built the foundation of a specialty business, and eventually had two locations in Southern California.
In 1945, his son Bob stepped in and took over the Glendale location. Over the next 35 years Bob custom-built thousands of hitches and began inventorying more ready-made products as they became available. Bob retired in the 1980âs and turned the family business over to his two sons. Tony Heacock decided to begin manufacturing custom horse and utility trailers.
Tony and his wife Mary were ready to expand and brought the Heacock name to the Central Coast in 1985. It was there that Heacock Welding opened its doors for the first time in Arroyo Grande. Tony began by custom building trailers and truck accessories, and grew the business to carry thousands of ready-made products from premium suppliers. Today, Heacock Trailers and Truck Accessories is owned and operated by a fourth generation, Tony and Maryâs son Matt Heacock. Matt and his wife Anna are proud of their family business and want to keep building on its success.
